SUNGOD SKATING CLUB 2024 ICE SHOW - PRINCIPAL ROLE AUDITIONS

Our 2025 Ice Show, “The Wizard of Oz on Ice” preparation is now underway. Coming up soon are the principal role auditions taking place on Tuesday, October 08th from 8:00-9:00pm at Sungod Arena. Please find attached the details of the roles and their various descriptions. The audition process will be improv style (creative expression), with the music provided at the audition. There will be a short practice prior to the proper audition performance. This will be a group audition, and stand outs will be given the opportunity to do a final skate.  Registration for the auditions is available in Uplifter here: Registration :: Registration :: Sungod Skating Club (uplifterinc.com) Registration for the auditions will close on October 01st at 11:59pm. Auditions will be closed for general viewing. Skaters can sign up for a maximum of 3 roles. Remember, if you don’t audition you won’t be selected! So don’t be shy - show us what you’ve got!

The principal roles and descriptions of their characters are as follows:

DOROTHY
Level: STAR 7/Pre-Nov & Up Gender: F
Description: adventurous, brave, and expressive.

TOTO
Level: STAR 4 & Up Gender: M or F
Description: energetic, curious, and can skate fast.

WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST
Level: STAR 7/Pre-Nov & Up Gender: F
Description: strong, confident, villainous, and must be willing to paint their skin green.

GLINDA THE GOOD WITCH
Level: STAR 7/Pre-Nov & Up Gender: F
Description: bubbly, caring, and graceful.

SCARECROW
Level: STAR 6/Pre-Nov & Up Gender: M or F
Description: cheerful, clumsy, slapstick comedy.

TIN MAN
Level: STAR 6/Pre-Nov & Up Gender: M or F
Description: empathetic, tough, and protective.

COWARDLY LION
Level: STAR 6/Pre-Nov & Up Gender: M or F
Description: comedic, frightful, and ferocious.

THE WIZARD
Level: STAR 4 & Up Gender: M or F
Description: powerful, trickster, and intimidating.

HEAD FLYING MONKEY
Level: STAR 4 & Up Gender: M or F
Description: strong, can jump high, physical role.

MAYOR OF MUNCHKINLAND
Level: STAR 4 - STAR 6/Pre-Juv/Juvenile Gender: M or F
Description: silly, bold, and confident.

*Please note that being selected to be a soloist is an amazing opportunity. But it is also a big responsibility, as you are the storytellers however in playing a character you may not be able to participate in all your other group numbers as you may need to re-
main in character to continue the flow of the story. Please keep this in mind when signing up for auditions. *
